KBPIXO Passport Photo Maker — Step-by-Step User Guide
This guide explains how to use the Make Passport Size Photo tool on KBPIXO, from choosing the correct dimensions to downloading your finished image. It is written in professional English and is suitable for a website tutorial, Help page, or WordPress article.
The tool allows you to resize and crop a photo, adjust certain background colours, select an output format, and download the result. Image processing is performed in your browser.
How it works
Step 1 — Choose Your Photo Size
Select a country or region, choose a preset such as 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inches, and set your preferred output resolution. You can also enter custom dimensions.
Step 2 — Upload Your Photo
Click Select Image or drag and drop a JPG, PNG, or WebP image into the upload area. The tool accepts images up to 20 MB.
Step 3 — Adjust the Crop
Use the Zoom, Horizontal Position, and Vertical Position sliders to frame your face. Keep your head centred and ensure that your full head and chin remain visible.
Step 4 — Adjust the Background
Choose a background colour and select a background mode. Review the preview carefully because basic colour replacement may affect hair, clothing, or other parts of the image.
Step 5 — Generate and Download
Open the Download tab, choose JPEG or PNG, click Generate Photo, and then click Download Photo to save the image to your device.
Detailed instructions for each step
1. Select the required photo dimensions
Open the Size tab.
Select your country or region.
Choose a preset from the Photo Preset menu or popular size cards.
Enter custom width and height values if needed.
Select CM, MM, Inch, or Pixels (PX).
Set the output resolution, such as 300 DPI.
Click Next: Select Photo.
Important: The presets are starting points. Confirm the current requirements of the passport, visa, or application authority before submitting your photo.
2. Upload an image
Click Select Image.
Browse your computer or mobile device.
Choose a clear, front-facing photo.
Wait for the preview to appear.
You can also drag and drop an image into the upload area. If the file is unsupported or larger than 20 MB, select another image.
3. Crop and position the photo
Zoom
Increase the zoom to make the face appear larger in the frame.
Horizontal Position
Move the crop area left or right across the photograph.
Vertical Position
Move the crop area up or down to improve head placement.
Click Update Preview to refresh the crop, or Reset Crop to restore the default slider positions.
4. Change the background
Open the Background tab and configure the settings.
Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
Choose Background | Select a colour using the colour picker. |
Keep original background | Retains the existing photo background. |
Replace similar corner colours | Recolours pixels similar to the sampled edge colours. |
Use solid colour behind image | Places a solid colour behind the existing image. |
Colour removal tolerance | Adjusts how much colour variation is included in the replacement. |
Technical note: The current code does not perform AI background removal. The similar-colour option can recolour parts of the subject, and the solid-colour option does not replace an opaque original background as its label might suggest. Review and correct these functions before publishing the tool as a fully featured background remover.
5. Review photo tips
Before downloading, check the following:
Your face is clearly visible and centred.
Lighting is even, without strong shadows.
Your eyes are open and your expression follows the application rules.
Your background matches the issuing authority’s requirements.
Your image is sharp and free from distracting filters.
Click Next: Download when you are ready.
6. Generate and download the final image
Check the output dimensions and DPI summary.
Select JPEG Photo or PNG Image in the Size tab if you need to change the format.
Click Generate Photo.
Wait for the success message and final preview.
Click Download Photo to save the file.
The downloaded filename includes the output pixel dimensions. The tool exports an image file; it does not automatically guarantee a specific file size in KB.
